Top Week 24 Storylines of the 22-23 NBA Season

The 2023 Hall of Fame Class has been announced: Is it the best class ever?

The 2023 Hall of Fame Class was announced and its headlined by a top 3 Shooting Guard in the history of the NBA in 3-time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade. There is also a major International impact with this class as arguably the greatest European-born player of all time in Dirk Nowitzki will be enshrined. The other two international players are legends in their own right as Pau Gasol and Tony Parker. Arguably the greatest coach of all time in Greg Popovich will be inducted alongside his fellow Hall of Fame point guard. Speaking of Hall of Fame point Guards, one of the greatest point guard in WNBA history and a San Antonio legend in her own right will be inducted. Of course, I am referring to the 6-time WNBA All-Star in Becky Hammond who is one of the greatest player in WNBA history and named to the anniversary teams for its 15th, 20th and 25th years

With the immense talent, hardware, and success that this Hall of Fame has in their collective basketball careers this is truly arguably greatest Hall of Fame class in NBA History. Especially when you mention how influential every player on this list is and the incredible legacies they left the game with. Also, when you include the winningest head coach in NBA history who is also 5-time NBA champion this class simply does not miss. Most notably, this class includes 6 first ballot Hall of Famers which again speaks to the overall greatness of this class and their impact on the game.

Kevin Durant returns from injury (again), Can the Suns be trusted as a favorite?

This week, Kevin Durant once again made his return from injury as the Suns matched up with the Timberwolves. Despite a rare poor shooting night Durant who scored just 16 points on 5-18 shooting the Suns still managed to get the win at home against the Timberwolves. Durant has bounced back in his next couple games scoring 30 in a win against the Nuggets followed by 35 point in a win against the Thunder. With Durant in the lineup, the Suns are now a perfect 6-0 and appear to have a perfectly complementary pieces with their superstar in Devin Booker.

With only 4 games remaining in the season the Suns have not had much time with Durant in the lineup so there could be some chemistry concerns that could show up as an issue in the playoffs. The specific concern could be who they matchup with in the playoffs since their likely first round matchup could be against the Los Angeles Clippers or Golden State Warriors. With the talent the Suns have on their roster they are understandably considered to be a title favorite in the west despite possible chemistry issues. Ultimately, Durant's skillset is that he can pretty much fit in no matter who is around him and play great efficient basketball which Is why I believe they should a trusted title favorite. Especially when you include the fact that the west is as wide open as its ever been their arguably is not a better team to feel more confident in than the Suns.

Damian Lillard shut down for the season: Is it time for Dame Time to come to and end in Portland?

In yet another NBA season, the Trailblazers have floundered in putting the proper pieces around their superstar in Damian Lillard and are near the end of a season that brings up more questions than answers. At 33-45, the Blazers are out of playoff contention and have seemingly waved the white flag on their season by deciding to shut Damian Lillard who had been dealing with a lingering calf injury. With the Blazers clearly being in rebuild mode and Damian Lillard turning 33 by the time the next season comes along now may finally be the time for both sides to go in a different direction.

Lillard has been loyal to the Blazers for reasons obviously bigger than basketball but from a career standpoint for Lillard it does seem like a time to at least consider other options. Also, in the case of the Blazers it makes sense business wise to see what they can get for what is by far their most valuable asset and go all in on a rebuild. It's safe to say that if you are a fan of basketball you are a fan of Damian Lillard as he has put together a Hall of Fame Career with the Blazers. With that said, he does have more basketball behind him than in front of him so seeing Lillard on a playoff contender will be something all basketball fans should want to see.

Game of the week- The Hawks get a much needed win against a Struggling Mavericks squad as Dejounte Murray and Trae Young combined for 49 points in the overtime victory. Kyrie Irving drops a game high 41 points in the loss.
