NBA Finals 2022: Steph Curry's 43 point Performance in Game 4

The Warriors came into Game 4 down 2-1 making it a must win Game for them to avoid falling to a 3-1 deficit. In games of this magnitude, many all-time great players find a way to win when the odds are stacked against them. Steph Curry did just that as he erupted for 43 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds in a much needed victory as the Warriors won 107-97 over the Boston Celtics.

In the postgame, when Steph was asked if he agreed with Klay Thompson's take of this being the best Finals performance of his career Steph simply stated, "I don't rate my performances, though. Just win the game."

Steph Curry's performance will go down as one of the all-time great performances in NBA Finals history. At 34 years old he is now just the 3rd oldest player to score 40+ points in NBA Finals history behind Lebron James and Michael Jordan. Curry is obviously no stranger to the big stage but doing what he did in this game is a testament to his greatness. When you think of some of the all-time great performances such as Magic in '87 against the Celtics or Jordan in '93 against the Suns this game stacks up just as well. It is also why many believe that winning this series and earning a well deserved Finals MVP will cement him as a top 10 player in NBA history.

At this point, all that Steph has to do to win Finals MVP is make sure the Warriors win the championship as he is now averaging 34.3 points points per game while shooting 49% from three. He will have a chance to have an encore performance back home in the Chase Center for Game 5 with a opportunity to take a commanding 3-2 lead. I expect the Warriors to finally break the Celtics streak of avoiding back to back losses in the postseason. To do so the Warriors will need Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins to step up like they did last game to take some pressure off of Curry.

With the series tied 2-2 it is now a 3 game series where 2 of the next 3 games are at home for the Warriors. I expect the Warriors to take advantage which is why I am sticking with my original prediction of the Warriors winning the series in 7 games .
